The 50th Hassan II Trophy and the 29th Lalla Meryem Cup Open a Major Week for Golf in Morocco
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and under the effective presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association officially open the 50th edition of the Hassan II Trophy and the 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup, taking place at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat from 18 to 24 May.
50 Editions: The Legacy of a Royal Vision
Founded in 1971 by His late Majesty King Hassan II, the Hassan II Trophy celebrates its Golden Jubilee in 2026. More than a milestone anniversary, this 50th edition reflects an exceptional legacy in international sport, shaped by a Royal vision and a constant pursuit of excellence that have established Morocco as a leading golfing destination.
Through the decades, the tournament has continued to evolve while preserving the distinctive spirit that makes it unique. Now a key stop on PGA TOUR Champions, it reaffirms its place among the major fixtures of the international golfing calendar, bringing the world’s elite to the legendary Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
The Legends of World Golf Return to Rabat
For this historic edition, the Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam will provide the setting for an exceptional confrontation. Sixty-six PGA TOUR Champions legends, including major champions and some of the most iconic names in the game, will gather in Rabat for a week of world-class competition.
Spectators will remember the victory of the charismatic Miguel Ángel Jiménez last year, claimed at the end of a highly competitive tournament that perfectly embodied the standards, prestige and sporting excellence that define the Hassan II Trophy.
In the same spirit of timeless elegance, these masters of the game will deliver a spectacle worthy of this jubilee edition, paying tribute to half a century of history, passion and sporting achievement.
Lalla Meryem Cup: A Tradition of Inclusivity
Organized during the same week and at the same venue, the Lalla Meryem Cup, founded by His late Majesty King Hassan II in 1993, embodies the tradition of inclusivity established in Rabat, where men’s and women’s competitions come together at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
Played on the Blue Course, the Lalla Meryem Cup will bring together 132 players from the Ladies European Tour (LET). It will also offer a major stage for Morocco’s national talents, giving them the opportunity to compete within a prestigious international setting.
Youth at the Heart of the Week
The week will also shine a light on the next generation through the “Pro-Am Hassan II Kids Cup by First Tee”, which will bring together children from the First Tee Morocco program and professional male and female players. Designed around discovery, learning and sharing, the event will take place on the Green Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
A Free and Seamless Spectator Experience
True to its longstanding tradition of openness, Royal Golf Dar Es Salam will be transformed, for one week, into a vibrant space for the public, bringing together sport, nature and shared experiences.
Placed under the sign of conviviality, this exceptional edition will offer free access to all visitors. To ensure a smooth, comfortable and enjoyable experience, a comprehensive logistics system has been deployed, including dedicated parking areas and free shuttle services to facilitate access to the site.
A Unique Exhibition at the Heart of the Week
As part of this year’s program, the tournament will host the “Challenge Troy and Ben”, a spectacular exhibition bringing together two emblematic figures of golf’s new generation, Ben Kruper and Troy Mullins. Scheduled for Tuesday, 19 May at 6:00 p.m. on the Green Course, this event will feature a showcase of original and interactive shots, inviting the public to take part in challenges alongside the players in a fun and immersive atmosphere. Both golfers will also take part in a clinic dedicated to children on Wednesday, 20 May at 2:30 p.m. on the practice range, further reinforcing the educational and inspiring dimension of the week.
Ben Kruper has established himself as one of the most influential golf content creators, known for his innovative, accessible and engaging approach to the game. Troy Mullins, an international long drive figure and ambassador of modern golf, embodies power, technical mastery and a strong commitment to making the discipline more open and accessible.
An Immersive Programme at the Heart of the Village
Beyond the sporting competition, the event will offer a rich and engaging programme designed for all generations:
- Nature walking trails: Spectators will be able to explore paths throughout the site, enjoying privileged views of the course, the competition and the surrounding natural environment.
- The Tournament Village: A central space dedicated to relaxation and conviviality, serving as an essential meeting point for golf enthusiasts, families and visitors.
- The Federal Area: An introductory space open throughout the week, where children and adults will be able to try their hand at the swing, discover the fundamentals of the discipline alongside professionals and learn about sustainable development practices.
- Food and relaxation: A varied Food Court and several dining areas will allow families to enjoy an open-air gourmet break in a relaxed setting.
- Entertainment: Technical demonstrations and playful activities will take place throughout the week on the practice range, offering visitors a fresh perspective on the behind-the-scenes world of high-level golf.

For its jubilee edition, the Hassan II Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup reaffirm their vocation as international events designed to be accessible to the widest possible audience.
This anniversary edition is not only a celebration of the world’s golfing elite. It is also an invitation for every citizen to take ownership of a national sporting heritage.
