The Blue Course, the second 18 hole course of Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, is an authentic Robert Trent Jones Sr that required some upgrading in an appropriately delicate way that
suits this little gem. Though shorter than the Red one, the Red course is very technical. It can also be fearful as on the 11, a very long par 4 with a perfectly defended green. Cabell B.
Robinson, a renowned American architect who had designed many golfs in Morocco, was trusted with this renovation work. Last year, he tackled the bunkers with the help of the
shaper Dean Baldwell. Eighteen new bunkers have been added in the shape of lacework that allowed from the start a better reading of the hole. During the previous Lalla Meryem Golf Cup, only twenty players turned in an under par scorecard during the first round. They were only ten at the conclusion of the tournament. This is evidence of how tough such a course is.
